Just a quick update . . .

Talked to my Doc today and I will be having my Follicle Study Ultrasound on Tues, June 17th (Next week). Doc will be doing the task herself so I am happy to get to know her a little better. From there I find out if I will be getting the HCG shot and when my next appointment to check my progesterone levels will be.

I have been looking into other blogs lately and will hopefully be compiling some as a list on my blog. I notice that alot of bloggers do this and its a great way to promote specific issues, topics, and interests. Love IT!!

Also coming soon . . . pics from my new camcorder (Thanks Dad and Steph!). I may even have a video to show off!!

Take care everyone and stay tuned!!

I can't seem to get going . . . Monday!!

I am so trying to give up my morning coffee!! I gave up pop/soda no problem, started that for my new years resolution! I have had a can on occasion, but can never finish and I get an upset stomach in about 10 minutes. BUT my coffee is my morning luxury! I look forward to getting out of my comfy warm bed just for a cup with a little flavored creamer! I am an addict! Today I truely made an effort, even had my special tea out and ready to make, but I decided on water for todays ultrasound. I was so groggy and out of sorts that I actually took a nap!! Finally had to go to work and I made it til 3pm when I broke down and had to get a capp/coffee and the market!! Its amazing stuff, I felt like I could do anything and had energy and motivation. I can't BE without it!!

So back to the ultrasound, I was told to drink 40 oz. an hour before my ultrasound. I did, got to my appt. 15 mins early with my recommended FULL bladder. My appt was at 10:15am they finally called my name at 10:35!!

The tech started with the regular lower abdominal ultrasound, since the new Doc wanted a thorough check on everything (uterus, and both ovaries). That went well, I was allowed to get up and PEEEEEEEEEE! OOOOoooohhhhhhhhhHHHH . . . . that was the best part of my morning!! Then I had to have the vaginal ultrasound for a more personal and detailed examination of whats going on down there. It is very interesting, especially when the tech asks "Do you want to insert the wand or should I???" Don't get asked that everyday, so I had to think about it. Contemplating the fact that I knew I could do it, but professionally isn't it her job to just take charge, is she afraid to do it wrong, its probably more comfortable if she does it since I would have to hunch over and find my way through the sheet thats covering me, and then how do I hand it off to her? what's the etiquet here?? In the end I just asked her to do it. All went well and unoffically the cyst on my left side is still there averaging 4cm, the same as the last two ultrasounds. I will hopefully find out more tomorrow when my Doc is in. I will be set up for another ultrasound (vaginal) probably next Tues. to count follicles!! This weekend I start doing my OPKs the check for the LH surge (usually postive on CD12, next Tues).

I'll be posting pics later this week of our NEW and IMPROVED bedroom that I painted, organized and decorated last week when DH was out of town. Its like our little version of While You Were Out. I get all the say and no hassles, DH gets a nice suprise and then cleans up my mess. Works well! It's moments like these that I love the fact he is an obsessive/compulsive cleaner (not diagnosed, just my opinion).

I"ll find out who's reading my blog now!

It's time to let you in on the future plans of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert.

As I posted back in a prior entry, since we are newlyweds the question has been "Are you going to have children? and When?" I have been vague in my answers but now I"ll level with you. I talked it over with the DH (dear husband) and got the okay to update those who read this blog.

The answer is "Yes, we would like to have children." Now its a matter of when. It hasn't been lack of effort, we actually have been trying and are currently on our 14th cycle.

Timeline:
FEB 2007 - Dr. check up and started prenatal vits.

APRIL 2007 - 1st month trying

NOVEMBER 2007 - HSG (procedure that injects dye into uterus and tubes, while x-rayed, to check for abnormalities or blockages) All clear, very interesting to watch also. DH also had SA (semen analysis) done and very good, super sperm!! He's very proud.

MAY 2008 - New OB/GYN. Previous Doc moved back to hometown and took my time finding my new one. Really like HER, first time having a female Doc. Talked about our next step and I have been placed in the "unexplained infertility" category. May be due to 4cm cyst I have had on my left ovary for at least the last two years.

Now it is JUNE 6,2008 and we are all set up for our first cycle using CLOMID!! Normally used to treat people with irreg. cycles or random ovulation. I have neither, pretty "textbook" cycles and with temping and using OPKs (ovulation predictor kits) the doc and I are sure I'm Oing. This will hopefully up my chanced of conceiving, with only a ten percent chance of twins, one percent of triplets. I can deal with that, DH not so much. He tends to look flushed and feel faint when I bring up the topic of multiples!!

Now TMI (too much information) may follow . . .

I got my period today!! Yippie. Yes, kind of excited since we have everything set up for this cycle. I will start taking my Clomid on cycle day 3 (Sun), then on Mon I have a vaginal ultrasound. Since I have that cyst and a new doctor we need to get a baseline size because this medication causes cysts and/or current ones to enlarge. I will be monitored very close during the cycle so that I don't end up with emergency surgery which would be necessary if the cyst grows to large and the weight causes my tube/ovary to twist. Painful and requires removal of ovary.

If you really want to get an insight of this cycle I have my chart online at:

www.fertilityfriend.com/home/19be1c

Abbreviations: CD= cycle day, BD= baby dancing (sex), CM= cervical mucus, OPK= ovulation predictor kits, green highlighted areas= possible ovulation days, red highlighted areas= possible arrival of Aunt Flow, the rest is pretty self explainatory.

Well, wish us luck and keep us in your prayers!!

No carbs, No pictures!

Ya, I know it doesn't make much sense to you but I'll explain. . . .

I am currently getting ready for our wedding reception (Sat, the 31st) and I am trying to maintain my figure, and of course, I'm staying away from "CARBS". I only have three more days to go after I make it through tonight. I can do it if I stay away form the TV, every commercial is food, bad Bad BAD food. Dairy Queen, Wendy's, Red Lobster, and my fav - Pizza Hut!!

Well since I can't have carbs, you can't see any new pictures. Darn - I know. I have my addictions and you have yours (to see my random pics). Just kidding. In all honesty I have nothing new and nothing incrimiating from past ones. Will correct that with the upcoming reception. Look out, and remember to smile!!

Dreaming . . .

This is one more example of the things I love about computers and the internet. I can be anyone and anywhere I would like with just punching some keys!!

Meez 3D avatar avatars games

I have to try harder to keep up with postings but other than getting ready for the reception coming up in less than 2 weeks I don't have much to write about.

I would really hope to get a new camera soon, maybe even one to take videos. I would be able to put more updates on here in more interesting ways. Once again there are sooooo many possibilities!!

Mother-in-Law Mother's Day Wish!

I realized being married I have to add the new "moms" in my life. I am so happy and grateful for all of my new additions! I don't have pics of them yet but in time if they sign the release form (JK-there's no form) I will post them!!

Kim- My new SIL, I am so happy you live so close and I look forward to many evenings grilling outside with you and your fam, watching baseball whether its one of Gabes games or on the outdoor TV.

Teresa- SIL, I always run into you so many places if it wasn't for our neighbor setting me and Jer up, I'm sure we would have found a connection in you down the road eventually.

Tammy- SIL, We've hung out a few times in the earlier times of mine and Jers connection, and I look forward to finding the time to do it again.

Emily and Gretchen- You are two of the most beautiful moms I know, and you passed it on to your children!!

Sally - (MIL) My new mom! For you I have a poem . . .

To My Mother-in-Law (my other Mother)
You are the mother I received
The day I wed your son,
And I just want to thank you, Mom,
For the loving things you've done.
You've given me a gracious man
With whom I share my life.
You are his lovely mother,
And I, his lucky wife.
You used to pat his little head,
And now I hold his hand.
You raised in love a little boy
And then gave me the man.
~poem by Judy Nilson

Actual Mother's Day 2008!

I posted my wishes to all the "moms" in my life last night, premature but I wanted to fit it in. I had plans this morning. Getting up early and making brunch for the local "moms". I really enjoyed playing Martha . . . decorating, creating inviting atmosphere, cooking/baking, cleaning, and drinking loads of Dunkin Doughnuts coffee!!

Everything was edible (most worried about . . . had visions of sending people to ER with food poisoning! No calls yet, whew!!)

My mom, sis, and grandma Betty made it over with stepdad, nephew, and sis BF. Missed were Stephmom (not typo, don't like sound of "step"), SIL Jess, step sis Jen, and grandma Mae and Donna!! You were thought of and missed!!

Of course, being a newlywed the subject was brought up as to when "I" would be celebrated on this day. I don't mind the question, in fact I always ask friends and clients in the same stage of life that very question.

It was easy to answer that before, I had an out . . . "ask me when I'm married." It worked for a while until I realized my parents were getting anxious for more grandchildren. They started responding . . ."you don't need to have a ring on that finger to get pregnant!"

So here I am at 34 and newly married. Finding a response to that question is getting harder and the details of when or if are not on the table yet. As now, I have a DH (dear husband) to consult with before I blab or blog to everyone our decision. I can tell you we are not pregnant and the rest will of the story will reveal as time passes.

So on this Mother's Day I'm sending everyone a special thoughts as I enjoy the moments of quiet and watch my shows on TV since DH is away fishing for the weekend!!
